Self-Portrait During Lockdown

This portrait served as a work of self-reflection; in a time of uncertainty and social isolation, I decided to paint myself exactly as I appeared, with long hair and an introspective look. I tried to have the background colours in keeping with the tone and mood of the portrait, with the arc of a circle lending uncertainty as to its end. Being a self-portrait, I left the work unsigned, however I painted an ant on my shoulder, conveying strength, but also a sinister unpredictable presence.
